Happy 2012!
Me, mama and my sister went to this New Years Eve party of our family friend. It was around 8 when my Mama suddenly asked us to prepare to go to the party. We were suppose to go to the party at 11 so we will be in time for the count down, but her friend texted her that everyone was there and we were the only guests they were waiting for. The house is only 1 block away from our place so we got to the house before 9.
When we got there, there were bunch of kids running everywhere, there was this lady dancing awkwardly with the beat of country music in front of her husband who was sitting very nicely on the couch, and there was a group of men chatting around the food.
When I got my food and looked around, I was able to establish that besides old people and kids, there’s no other teenager there besides my sister and me. I just enjoyed my food while sadly sitting near this awkward lady dancer because there’s no other seat available. After eating my food I decided to settle on the stairs and just text people. The loud country music didn’t stop playing until 11 when people decided to go out and light some sparklers in order to appreciate the new year spirit.
We waited until the clock strikes 12. CTV has this yearly tradition of celebrating new years eve with a live broadcast of a concert happening downtown and a countdown to new year together with it. When it was 10 mins. before 12 people in the house started making so much noise. I felt hungry so I got another slice of Lasagna and watched people go crazy around the house. When it was a minute more before 2011 ended people started counting down. I stood together with them just looking at the numbers as it decreased every second.
When 2011 ended, people in the house (including me) started shouting happy new year, giving each and every one a hand shake, a hug or a kiss in order to show the warm spirit of the new and fresh year of 2012.
By the way, I took this photo when I got bored and went to the washroom to fix myself.  :)) Just a side note to show the relevance of the photo! :))
